Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Very clear crisp hallmarks are visible on the back of each spoon bowl for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1876, Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and maker's mark for George Adams.

The set comes beautifully presented in the original case, with brown leather exterior and sumptuous purple velvet and satin interior. The case is marked 'Elkington & Co Manchester' (retailer's mark).

This fabulous set oozes all the luxuriance of the Victorian Era.
