It is beautifully hand crafted in platinum & 18 carat gold.
The body & wings are encrusted with 21 gorgeous old brilliant cut diamonds.
They are set in platinum with delicate millegrain detail to great effect
The butterfly has a wonderful graduated diamond thorax and beautiful little bright red ruby eyes. ?
It measures 26 mm across the top 15 mm across the bottom and 17 mm down.
The diamonds range from 3 mm to 1.5 mm with a total weight of about 0.80 carat.
They are clear & bright with immense sparkle.Colour G, Clarity SI.
The rich red cabochon rubies are 1.3 mm wide.
To the reverse of the brooch the clasp is fitted with a safety catch. The brooch weighs 3.3 grams.
This genuine antique brooch dates to the Edwardian period.
