The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The solid sterling silver-mounted flagon is in marvellous condition. The silver is clearly hallmarked for London 1895 with the maker's mark of William Hutton & Sons.
The handle is securely attached. The base has a classic star burst design and the glass is in perfect condition. The silver mount has one slight crease at its base, about 3mm in length. The stopper also carries partial hallmarks. The flagon holds 1.25 pints.
