The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the 1910s.
A highly stylised candle holder, made by the highly regarded German firm, WMF.
(Marks: "B" means Britannia metal, a zinc-antimony-copper alloy which served as a base metal for silver plating, "I/O" means normal silver coating, "OX" means oxidized finish).

There are a few marks on the kite-shaped base, the purpose of which is a mystery. The item could be used as a 'go to bed' candle holder or chamberstick, but that seems unlikely as, by carrying it, the helmeted warrior is covered.

An interesting, tactile piece.
