Description

London 1934 English hallmarked solid silver exceptionally heavy and high quality sauce boat by one of Europe's finest makers, Hunt and Roskell. The firm was originally started by Paul Storr, and sold much silver to the Royal Family. Hunt and Roskell were known for their fine quality wares.

This is an unusually heavy and thick gauged sauce boat with shaped top edge, rounded body and standing on an oval stepped pedestal foot. The handle is thick, and beautifully shaped as well, and the pouring lip is very wide.

Along with the usual hallmarks, there is a special commemorative mark to celebrate the silver jubilee of the coronation of King George V.

Weight-very heavy at 250 grams.

Considering the value of just the scrap weight of this piece, this is a wonderful value, as silver prices continue to soar.

Size-6.75 inches long with handle by 3 5/8 inches wide by 3 1/8 inches high.

A very elegant and fine quality sauce boat, by fine makers, with generous size, with just one tiny mark to the side.

With exceptionally heavy weight, in very good condition overall.
