Silver Milk Jug

An elegant early 20th century silver milk jug made in London in 1922 by Charles and Richard Comyns (sons of the celebrated William Comyns). Of circular form it sits on a stepped spreading foot and has a cast handle decorated with acanthus, and a band of bright cut and engraved decoration around the rim. There is a vacant shield shaped cartouche on either side, with below these conjoined olive branches. Weight: 5.89 Troy oz (183 grammes)
