Victorian Acorn Design Salt by Mappin & Webb Birmingham 1899

Description

An absolutely delightful, Victorian, Salt by the renowned makers Mappin & Webb. The pleasing rounded shape is superbly enhanced by the wonderful repousse work around the sides featuring acorns and oak apples. The pot sits evenly on three pretty feet. The underneath of the pot is clearly hallmarked for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1899 and maker's marks for Mappin & Webb. It has also been stamped 'Mappin & Webb London'.

 

A beautiful item, with particularly attractive and unusually designed pattern.

 

In great antique condition.

 

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1899 by Mappin & Webb.

 

Measurements:

Height: 3.5 cm approx.

Diameter width: 4.4 cm approx.
