Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
It is a wonderfully plain polished silver, with a neat reeded border around the top edge. The spout is a tranditional Georgian design and the handle is a lovely angular shape.Enhancing the overall design; the jug sits on four Lion's paw feet. It has an original pale gilt interior.

Hallmarks are clearly visible just beneath the spout for the London Assay Office with a date for 1809 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker's mark if also visible for 'RD'

A lovely item in great antique collector's condition.
