Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
This strap is unusual as it has a central divider to separate the cigarettes. Both lid and base are very clearly hallmarked for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1910 along with the silvermaker's mark: Wright & Davies, and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver.

A good heavy gauge case and a great quality item. Would serve equally well as a card case. Epitomy of the Era!
The case is in great antique collector's condition. There is one very small ding to one side of the case which is hardly noticeable, commensurate with the age of the item and mentioned for accuracy only.
Hallmarks and maker's marks: London 1910 by Wright & Davies
