Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Coffee Pot with Eagle Finial 1853

Description

This is a beautiful antique Victorian sterling silver coffee pot measuring 10 1/2? (27 cms) tall x 9? (23 cms) across from handle to spout x 5 1/2? (14 cms) deep and with a 3 pint capacity.

The condition is superb with no damage at all (any marks you can see in the photos are just reflections) and inside is nice and clean and perfectly usable.

It’s hallmarked for London 1853 with the silversmiths mark for Daniel & Charles Houle.

It has beautiful bold decoration all round with a particularly impressive finial in the style of an eagle.

There is an armorial crest in each cartouche with the motto 'Fide et Fortitudine' which means 'By Fidelity and Fortitude'.

It weighs 952 grams which gives you some idea of the quality.
