19th century beautiful Victorian cut glass and silver plate claret jug standing on a footed base.

The silver plate mounts are engraved with a foliate design and beaded trim, while the elegant curving handle is cast, and embellished with foliage as well. The lid has a well fitting hinge and is surmounted with a cast finial.

The very elegant cut glass body is beautifully engraved with ferns, stars, swags and scrolls, and stands on a footed base.

Size-11.5 inches tall by 6 inches wide with handle by 5.5 inches diameter of body.

In very good condition, this is a wonderful survivor of the era, and excellent to use for any decanted wine.

It will be an impressive piece on the dining table or bar, or will make a wonderful gift.
