Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Snuff Box 1817

Description

This is an antique Georgian hallmarked sterling silver snuff box measuring 3 1/2" (9 cms) x 2 1/4" (6 cms) x 1 1/2" (4 cms) high.

It opens and closes perfectly with a good strong hinge and the interior is in good condition with the original gilding inside.

It weighs 168.7 grams and is hallmarked for Birmingham 1817 with the silversmiths mark for Joseph Willmore.

The lid is engraved with the inscription 'To Gen. Thompson Esq. in remembrance of his friend John Forrester 1867'.
