Chequers Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
It is formed from a piece of crystal, simply and accurately cut at the edges, and surmounted by a square hinged lid, at each corner of which is a single hobnail. The collar bears marks for London 1934, with the addition of the Silver Jubilee mark, and Cartier’s maker’s mark. These are repeated as part marks on the inside of the lid (see photos). The piece is in fantastic condition, with all of the corners intact, and with good clear marks. Small but perfectly formed. All enquires about this or any other of our stock are welcome.
