Lovely Pair of Japanese Silver Vases by Masayoshi for the Hattori Company

Description

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this unusual matched pair of octagonal pear shaped Meiji period Silver vases c 1910, the first of this elegant pair of vases depicts a group of three Crabs delicately engraved in low relief whilst the second vase bears the humorous character Hotei (one of the seven lucky gods of good fortune) leaning against his treasure sack and carrying a gnarled bamboo cane, the sack highlighted in gilt, the sides of each vase are signed with the chiselled characters Masayoshi Koku ( made by Masayoshi ), the bases stamped with the Jungin mark ( pure Silver ), and made by Hattori, a leading Silversmith and retailer of fine goods, a great little pair of vases to add to your collection.

The condition: Each vase is in immaculate clean condition with only minor dimples to the foot rim.
