Rare Victorian Sovereign Case Birmingham 1886

Description

A superior, Victorian, solid silver Sovereign Case in the most exquisite design . The front is in the form of a flower with the back emulating the back of a flower. (see images). The case has a push button opening with a sprung hinge with the top opening and closing with a good snap! with a loop at the top for attachment. Clear hallmarks are visible under the spring for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1886 along with the maker's mark for 'HB'

 

A superb sovereign case, unusual and rare design making it very much a collector's item.

 

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1886 HB

 

Condition: In great antique collector's condition.
