Antique Victorian Silver Drum Mustard With Newcastle Silver Spoon

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a very attractive solid sterling silver drum mustard and spoon.

The mustard is clearly hallmarked on the base for London 1850 with the maker''s mark for Charles Reily and George Storer. It features a domed lid with foliate engraving. The shell-shaped thumb piece is firmly attached, as is the decorative handle. The pierced trellis pattern in the body of the mustard shows the blue glass liner, which looks to be original and is free from cracks and nibbles.

The mustard spoon also carries very clear hallmarks, this time for the long-closed Assay Office in Newcastle 1850 and the makers Lister & Sons (William Lister I, Clement Lister & William Lister II).
