Victorian Silver Box Birmingham 1892

19th century
Description

A delightful Victorian, solid silver box. The lid is decorated with lovely reousse work and is hinged at the back. The body is decorated with a wrythen design. When opened the gilt washed interior is revealed. Clear hallmarks are visible on the base of the box for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1892 and maker's mark for the silversmith Joseph Whitten.

 

Condition: In great antique condition.

 

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1892 by Joseph Whitten.

 

Measurements:

Height: 2.5 cm approx.

Diameter width: 3.8 cm approx.

Weight: 13.5 grams
