Silver Cased Pipe Tool Set London 1937 by Sampson & Mordan

1920 - 1940
Description

A most attractive solid silver cased Pipe Tool Set. The case is a lovely engine turned design and has an empty cartouch in the very centre with no engravings or initials. There is a loop for attachment. The tools inside are revealed by pulling the base of the case, where the tools are exposed and are attached to the base. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1937 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker's marks for the silversmith are also very clear for the renowned maker Sampson Mordan.
