Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The superb craftmanship is evident with the most beautiful embossing around the body of the Tea Caddy, in the form of charming flowers and leaves and on each side, a framed empty cartouch. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1896 along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker’s mark for Josiah Williams. These hallmarks are also visible on the lid.

Feels very nice to hold and is a good weight for the size. The empty cartouch could be personalised if required. Great as a gift for a collector
