Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
There is a nice star cut pattern underneath. The silver lid is a polished silver design with no engraving or embossing. It pulls off and fits back perfectly well. The underneath of the lid is gilded in a lovely lemony gold. Clear hallmarks are visible on the side of the silver lid for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1925, along with the Lion Passant for sterling silver and marks for the silversmith Adie Brothers.
