An exceptional pair of Victorian diamond earrings. Topped by a trio of old cut diamonds, rubover set in silver, from which hangs the main body of the piece. A finely crafted and shaped frame, with one old cut diamond at the top and five slightly larger old cuts at the V shaped base, holds a large, articulated rubover set diamond in the centre. The main, larger diamonds display a light yellow hue, the colour of which is emphasised by the whiteness of the diamonds in the surround. With lever-back closures.
Accompanied by an independent jewellery report from IGR (#30307105).
Cut – Old mine cuts.
Colour –The two main diamonds are light yellow (S and U). The smaller diamonds are H to K
Clarity – The two main diamonds are VS1 to VS2. The smaller diamonds range from SI1 to I1. All the diamonds are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The two main diamonds are approximately 0.70 carat and 0.63 carat respectively, with a further approximate 1.31 carat in smaller diamonds. Approximately 2.64 carat total.
Circa – 1870.
Measurements – From top to bottom the earrings are 29.7mm and are 13.2mm at the widest point.
Metal – 18k yellow gold and silver. Tested.
