Magnificent William Comyns Figural Jewelry / Ring Box - Reynold's Angels

Description

A quite magnificent and rare piece of English solid or sterling silver in the form of a dressing table, the likes of which I have never seen before.

The quality is sensational, which is what you would expect from the famous and highly coveted silversmith, William Comyns. The jewellery box stands on four highly decorative legs, has a wonderful pierced silver frieze in the front centre and the most amazing back to the dressing table, incorporating the highly collectible Reynold's Angels vignette.

The hinged lid is in perfect working order and reveals a green velvet lined interior with two fitted compartments either end each for three rings, and an additional central compartment. Hallmarked for London 1902 together with the makers initials WC.

An impressive heirloom quality piece in wonderful condition, measuring 6" wide x 2 1/2" deep x 5 1/4" tall at back.
