George III Silver Swing Handle Sugar Basket, 1790

Description

A fine George III solid silver swing handle sugar basket, hallmarked London 1790 by William Stroud. A wonderful basket with pierced and bright cut engraved decoration with central vacant cartouche to each side. Original blue glass liner.

In excellent condition, hallmarks sharp and clear. There is a nibble to the edge of the blue glass liner as illustrated. This does not distract from the piece.
