A Rare Victorian Silver Vesta Box

A rare and unusual variation on the usual silver vesta. This Victorian hallmarked example is a rectangular box with a striker to the base. The lid is hinged and to the top is an attaching ring for a fob chain or chatelaine. The base and lid have gorgeous ivy engraving and to the top is a circular vacant cartouche. A most interesting and unusual addition to a vesta collection. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Very good, with no splits or holes. There are a couple of pinprick dimples to the cartouche, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Full set to base and corresponding part set to lid.
