Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Snuff Box 1892 - Red Screes, Lake District

Description

This is a lovely antique Victorian hallmarked sterling silver snuff box measuring 1 3/4" (4.5 cms) x 1 1/4" (3 cms).

It opens and closes perfectly with a good strong hinge and the interior is in good clean condition with the original gilding.

It weighs 34.8 grams and is hallmarked for London 1892 with the silversmiths mark for Sampson, Mordan & Co.

The lid is engraved with a scene of Red Screes which is a fell in the Lake District and it is engraved along the front '30 July, 1903, 'Red Screes'.
