Rare Silver Match Box Cover Birmingham 1907

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare, Edwardian, silver match box cover. The surface is a lovely polished silver and wonderfully embossed with a Dealer's hand holding playing cards, with enamel on the cards. The cover stands on four neat ball feet and underneath are the very clear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1907, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, and the maker's mark: James Fenton.

 

This is a very collectable antique, rare and in great collector's condition.

 

Condition: Great antique condition.

 

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1907 by John Fenton.

 

Measurements:

Height: 2.6 cm approx.

Width: 5.9 cm approx.

Depth: 4 cm approx.
