An exquisite George III six-piece cut glass cruet set in silver, hallmarked London 1779 by John Schofield, a silversmith much regarded and particularly noted for cruet sets.

As per his signature style, this stunning cruet is in the Neo-Classical taste, with beautiful geometric bands and beaded rim to the stand, with central urn detail and bright cut decoration.

The six original bottles are in beautiful undamaged condition, each with silver tops and complimentary decoration and detail. The salt and pepper have decorated perforated caps with finial tops, oil and vinegar have elegant beaded and reeded handles with bright cut decorated hinge tops.

The bottles are all held with a stunning bright cut decorated star shaped spacer which is connected to the looped handle with further decoration. The whole piece stands on ball and claw feet.

A very impressive piece of Georgian silver by one of finest makers of the 18th Century and in beautiful condition throughout.
