A Small Edwardian Silver Pot Pouree Box

A gorgeous Edwardian silver pot pouree box. This lovely piece is of rounded form with a pierced, hinged lid and is of pleasing gauge silver. The inside is fully gilded and the piercing forms the date 1904. Small pieces like this were used to scent cupboards or chests of drawers and were filled with violets or other fragrant petals. They were also component parts of large travelling toiletry sets and are not often found. A good collector's [piece, both decorative and practical. Dimensions below.
