Georgian Silver Caddy Spoon London 1809

Description

A particularly attractive solid silver, Georgian caddy spoon. The spoon has a plain polished rectangular bowl with a nicely engraved handle; decorated with scrolls with a nice shield shaped empty cartouch at the top. The reverse side of the spoon bears the very clear hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1809 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, with maker's marks for the silversmiths Richard Turner and John Shea.
