Georgian Silver Compass

A charming Georgian period silver cased compass. The actual compass is by Nairne and Blunt of London a famous maker of scientific equipment. The silver case which is fully hallmarked on the inside is by Thomas Harper with London hallmark for 1785. The compass is in good used condition there are some minor knocks to the case and thee handle is slightly bent. The dial has a small chip and crack. A rare fine early piece.
