Long Handled Silver Mustard Spoon London 1844

Description

An unusual, early Victorian, solid silver mustard spoon, with an extra long handle. Lovely simple design with no engraving or embossing. Clearly visible on the back of the spoon handle are the hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1844 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with maker's mark for Channer & Co. There is a retailers code lightly scratched on the back '49694 RT/-'

 

Exceptional mustard spoon nice to hold by the handle and a good weight.

 

Condition: This spoon is in great antique condition.

 

Hallmarks & maker's marks: London 1844 by Channer & Co

 

Measurements:

Length of spoon: 13.8 cm approx.

Weight: 19.24 grams approx.
