A very decorative and good quality late Victorian Mappin Brothers oval silver plated biscuit box with a hinged lid featuring a beautiful greyhound dog finial. The body of the barrel has lion mask and swing looped handles and is chased with garlands of flowers and an empty oval cartouch. Standing on four scroll and paw feet. In very good re-plated condition. Circa 1890. Maker: Mappin Brothers, London. Weight: 1.22 kg
