Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
There is a loop on one side for attachment to a fob or chatalaine. A circular unengraved cartouch sits in the very centre of the Vesta. When opened clear hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the Vesta for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1920, and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith's maker's mark for Henry Williamson Ltd. There are also partial marks to the front of the lid.

This Vesta feels lovely to hold and is a good heavy gauge silver and great proportions.
Definitely a collector's item due to the wonderful overall condition (as good as it gets!) and the most unusual and rare shape .
