Rural Scene Silver Tea Caddy London 1901 (Import Mark)

1900 - 1920
Description

An exquisite, solid silver Tea Caddy, of lovely proportions. Oval design with wonderful rural scenes embossed, depicting village life, including cottages, church and village folk! It has a neat beaded edge to both the top and bottom edges. A nice circular lid pulls of for filling the Caddy. Very clear hallmarks are visible for London 1901 and the letter 'F' indicating import ('F' indicates the item was made between 1867 and 1904, therefore the Caddy could be older than the mark). These can be clearly seen on the side of the Caddy and on the lid and also on the base underneath.

The silver importers marks are also very clear for: Maurice Freeman.

Condition: This Caddy is in great antique condition. There are a few minor dents around the shoulders commensurate with age that we mention for accuracy.

Hallmarks: London 1901

Measurements:

Height: 12 cm approx.

Width : 8.9 cm approx.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
