Set Of Six Antique Victorian York Silver Teaspoons

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a good set of six egg or tea spoons.

They are clearly hallmarked on the back of the handle for York 1843, with the maker''s mark for James Barber & William North. The York Assay Office closed in 1857, making silver assayed in the area increasingly hard to find.

The spoons are in the classic fiddle pattern and have an italicised engraving on the finial. The silver is in excellent condition.
