Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
It has a lovely handle, again in a true gothic style, all culminating in what is a most aesthetically pleasing item. Made from exceptionally good heavy gauge silver it feels a really nice weight when picked up by the handle. Very clearly defined hallmarks can be seen on the top of the base for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark of 1929 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the maker's marks for the quality silversmiths:Thomas Bradbury & Son. A superb Toast Rack!
