Unusual Floral Embossed Silver Box Birmingham 1902

A charming early Edwardian solid silver trinket box, unusually shaped and splendidly embossed with flora and scrolls to the lid and sides. The lid and the base have a neat fluted edge (see photos), enhancing the appearance of this box. It is hinged at the back and opens to a gilded interior, where hallmarks are very clearly visible on the base for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1902 and the maker's marks for Clark & Sewell. There are also part hallmarks on the lip of the lid.

Attention to the finest embossing work is very evident!

 

Condition: This box is in great antique condition commensurate with age. There are a few tiny 'dings' underneath on the base of the box which I mention for accuracy.
