Rare Antique English Silver Plated Equestrian / Jockey's Inkwell

Description

A wonderful Victorian inkwell ... most unusual standing on it's three figural boot from legs, beautifully executed.

The horseshoe is decorated with blue enamel where the nail indentations would be on the shoe and there is a riding crop that sits at the top of the shoe.

The inkwell itself has a Jockey cap as the hinged lid which opens to reveal the glass chamber inside which would contain the ink.

A real find for your equestrian related antique collection and in great condition, some minor plate wear commensurate with age and mentioned purely for accuracy. Measures 6 1/4" x 3 7/8" x 2 3/4" tall.
