A lovely example of a solid sterling silver cream or milk jug, dating from the realm of George III.
It is hallmarked on the side for London 1784.
The jug is plain and simple in design. The circular pedestal base has a small rim of beading around the edge and the top rim is decorated with a pie crust edging. There are some very faint italicised initials on the front of the body. The handle has an ornate scrolled appearance.
The silver is in a good condition. There are no dents or tears, just general wear associated with an item of this age.
