Antique Georgian Solid Silver Nutmeg Grater 1795

18th century
Description

A wonderful example of a solid sterling silver nutmeg grater, dating from the reign of George III.

The grater is clearly hallmarked inside the lid for London 1795. The maker's mark is difficult to identify as it is stamped under one of the holes in the lid. The lid twists off and the actual grater can then be prised off the base. All pieces fit together well.

The silver is in excellent condition, especially when one considers the age of the item.

Dimensions:

Weight: 28g

Length: 4.5cm

Diameter of base: 2cm

Diameter of grater: 2.9cm

Post and packaging are free within the UK via Royal Mail special delivery. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs. Thank you.

Payment can be made via PayPal, bank transfer or cheque. A PayPal account is not needed - payment by credit or debit card can be made by pressing the ‘pay now’ button on the item page.
