A wonderful example of a solid sterling silver nutmeg grater, dating from the reign of George III.
The grater is clearly hallmarked inside the lid for London 1795. The maker''s mark is difficult to identify as it is stamped under one of the holes in the lid. The lid twists off and the actual grater can then be prised off the base. All pieces fit together well.
The silver is in excellent condition, especially when one considers the age of the item.
