Solid Georgian Silver Nutmeg Grater 1796 - Pemberton

Description

This is a wonderful example of a mid-George III antique solid sterling silver nutmeg grater.

Egg-shaped and much used, the two sides of the egg twist together, and the grater grill pulls out. The joins are tight. There are lots of small dings and dents, but the silver is not ripped or torn and there are no holes. The price reflects the condition.

It is clearly hallmarked within the lid for Birmingham 1796, with the maker's mark of the great Samuel Pemberton.

It is gorgeous...
