Description

A heavy silver Goliath pocket watch chain with fob, 246g.

This is the heaviest single silver chain we have ever seen at 246g. The T-bar, links and clasp are all hallmarked for 1898 with a maker’s mark of GEG, believed to be George Gee… it is lovely to see that all the components are original to each other.

The chain measures 16” / 41cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.

Also included is the Goliath fob, also hallmarked for 1898, so it has probably always been with the chain. The maker for the fob is J.W... it was usual for the fobs to be made by a different silversmith to the chain maker.
