The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Clearly hallmarked on the base for London 1908 with the maker's mark for Charles & George Asprey. The base is also stamped with 'ASPREY LONDON' and the patent number 13245.

The ivory stick handle is in good condition, with a slight side-wards wobble. The plain bowl beneath the strainer has a small rim around the inside and a charming spout. The pierced bowl above is suspended by two scroll arms.
