Cased Silver Grape Scissors Mappin & Webb Sheffield 1933

This is a superb pair of solid silver grape scissors/ shears in the original case. The scissors are a polished silver finish with no embellishing apart from the floral design on the pivot. The shears have a flange incorporated. Very clear hallmarks are visible on the back of the handles for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1933, along with very clear maker's mark for the fine renown silversmiths: Mappin & Webb. The Lion Passant for sterling silver can also be seen on both of the handles.

These grape shears come in the original blue leatherette case, with a lovely deep blue satin and velvet lining and a good push button opener on one side.

 

Condition: The grape scissors are in excellent antique condition. The case is in great antique condition (it does show some minor wear commensurate with age and mentioned for accuracy).
