Description

An exquisite late Victorian, solid silver Vesta case, unusually square in shape. Beautifully engraved with an attractive geometric and floral decoration to both the front and back, with a nice plain polished corner either side. Hinged on one side the lid opens and closes perfectly . The case has clear hallmarks visible on the inside lip of the vesta for the Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1901 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith's maker's mark for Arthur Cook.

Condition: This Vesta is in lovely antique condition.

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1901 by Arthur Cook.
