Silver Leaves Design Vesta Case Birmingham 1906

1900 - 1920
Description

An exquisite Edwardian, solid silver vesta case, beautifully engraved with a very attractive leaf pattern to both the front and back, with a lovely unusually shaped vacant cartouche in the centre. Hinged on one side the lid opens and closes perfectly and there is a good fastening loop to the side. The case has clear hallmarks visible on the inside lip of the vesta for Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1906 and the lion passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith's maker's mark for Joseph Gloster.

   

Condition: This vesta case is in great antique condition.

   

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1906 by Joseph Gloster.

4.3 cm x 3.7cm (including loop) x 1 cm approx.
