Antique George III Solid Silver Cruet Set

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a wonderful example of a solid sterling silver five bottle Cruet Set.

All silver parts carry matching hallmarks for London 1809, with the maker''s mark of Thomas Wallis II. The hallmarks are in varying states of clarity, depending where they are. The only unmarked piece is the mustard spoon, which is a silver plated replacement. The bottles are original and are in excellent condition, given the age of the set. The stoppers also match - one glass stopper is slightly shorter than its counterpart. The glass bottles with stoppers have pouring spouts. There is a small area of damage to one of the silver lids - mentioned for accuracy only, as it does not detract from the appearance or usefulness of this fine set.

The base is solid and stands well, with wooden inset and four legs.
