4 Silver Gilded Salt Spoons Sheffield 1880 Walker & Hall

A superb set of 4 solid silver, matching Victorian, salt spoons. The pattern on the spoons is delightful, decorated from the top of the handle to the bowl and also to the back of each spoon handle. Each of the spoon bowls have been beautifully re-gilded and the colour of the gilt is a lovely deep gold (which adds to the wonderful appearance of each spoon). Very clear hallmarks are visible on the back of each spoon: Sheffield 1880 along with the renowned maker’s mark: Walker & Hall. Each of these spoons also bear the silversmith’s mark for John Edward Bingham a prominent silversmith who worked for Walker & Hall and later become Sir John Bingham. The lion passant for sterling silver is also very clear

 

Condition: These spoons are in excellent antique condition.

 

Hallmarks: Sheffield 1880 by Walker & Hall (John Edward Bingham).

Weight of each spoon: 8.16 grams approx.
