Outside has a very heavy chased floral and scroll decoration to the top and edges with a small gold plaque on the top with the initials GJ.
It weighs 100 grams which gives you an idea of the quality, is hallmarked for Birmingham 1827 and is by the prominent silversmith and maker of fine snuff boxes Nathaniel Mills.

Inside it has a lovely engraved dedication 'The Gift of Mrs Smedly Oct 31st 1827.
All hallmarks and silversmiths marks are perfectly clear and this is a quite beautiful box in excellent condition .
