Antique Early Victorian Sterling Silver Snuff Box 1843 - Society of Anderston

Description

This is a superb antique Victorian hallmarked sterling silver snuff box measuring 3" (8 cms) x 2" (5 cms).

Inside is in very good clean condition and still retains the original gilding.

Outside is also in great condition with beautiful engraving and the lid bears the inscription -

'Presented by the members of the Late United Friendly Society of Anderston to Mr Robt Scott their

presses for his valuable serices in winding up the afffairs of the society in 1843'.

It weighs 108 grams which gives you an idea of the quality and is hallmarked for Birmingham 1843 with the silversmiths mark for Edward Smith.
